Logistics and Transport Operations Manager

About the role

Capital Logistics Solutions, a well‑established transport and logistics provider in Gauteng and Rustenburg, is seeking an Operations Manager to drive operational discipline, efficiency and profitability across its logistics business. The role requires a hands‑on leader who can interrogate performance, eliminate inefficiencies and ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all operational functions, ensuring alignment of resources, systems and processes with business objectives.
• Monitor and improve fleet utilisation, downtime, productivity and cost management to meet budgeted PBIT and Net Working Capital targets.
• Ensure compliance with SHEQ, ISO, RTMS and other legislative, contractual and internal governance requirements.
• Develop and implement performance management, learning, succession and recruitment processes to foster continuous improvement.
• Promote a culture of risk awareness, diversity, open communication and employee engagement.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) with a relevant tertiary qualification in transportation, logistics or business management.
• 5–10 years of operational leadership experience in transport and logistics, preferably with exposure to mining, FMCG, building or construction logistics.
• Minimum 5 years of senior operations experience and proven ability to manage budgets, profitability and cost optimisation.
• Strong conflict‑resolution, composure under pressure and high energy self‑starter attitude.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Knowledge of the NBCRFLI main agreement and South African Labour Relations frameworks.
• Familiarity with balanced scorecards, Individual Development Plans, workforce planning and project management processes.
• Understanding of ISO, RTMS systems, audit procedures and commercial contracting.
