Log-In Clerk

About the role

SGS, a global inspection, verification, testing and certification company, is hiring a Log-In Clerk in its Randfontein laboratory. The role covers receiving and logging samples, preparing labels and ensuring samples are ready for the next steps in the testing process.

Key responsibilities

• Log received samples into SLIMS using work orders from the client
• Print sample labels and ensure samples are sorted correctly before labelling and boxing
• Follow all quality directives of the department and comply with quality, health and safety rules
• Keep the receiving area tidy and report faulty equipment to the Logistics Supervisor
• Bring technical and managerial problems to the attention of the Senior Administration and Logistics Supervisor
• Comply with the Laboratory Quality Management System (ISO 17025) and the SGS management system
• Work in other areas or divisions when asked and perform other reasonable tasks assigned by the line manager

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 education
• Experience logging samples and working with CCLAS
• Able to interact with clients, personally or by e-mail
• Good analytical skills and ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

Required skills

• Excellent communication skills, written and spoken English
• Strong experience with SLIMS
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
