Loader – Mill Operations

About the role
The Loader works in the mill’s chop loading bay, transferring bulk chop from storage bins into trucks for distribution. The role ensures efficient loading while maintaining safety, hygiene and housekeeping standards.
Key responsibilities
- Receive and verify loading sheets before each shift.
- Guide trucks to the appropriate bins and oversee the loading process.
- Remove blockages from bins (poking) when required.
- Monitor truck fill levels to meet required standards.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas, including bin dips and general mill cleaning.
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene and health‑and‑safety procedures.
- Perform basic plant maintenance tasks as needed.
Required profile
- Minimum NQF 4, Grade 12 or equivalent qualification (RPL accepted).
- At least 6 months experience in a similar environment is advantageous.
- Understanding of health and safety standards in an industrial setting.
Required skills
- Forklift licence (advantageous).
- Computer literacy (advantageous).
- Ability to conduct bin dips and perform basic maintenance.
