Litigation Executive (Civil Litigation)

About the role

Alpha is looking for a Litigation Executive to manage a civil litigation caseload in Umhlanga Ridge, South Africa. The role supports Litigation Executives and Claims Handlers, handling case documentation, client communication and coordination with solicitors and insurers.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and review legal documents such as applications, offers, orders and directions.
• Attend and contribute to telephone conferences with clients, solicitors and insurers.
• Manage cases in line with Service Level Agreements, creating action plans and meeting deadlines.
• Review quantum, assess general and special damages and develop comprehensive case plans.
• Conduct telephone negotiations with third‑party solicitors, insurers and lay clients.
• Liaise regularly with third‑party solicitors, insurers, own insurer clients and lay clients to maintain positive relationships.

Required profile

• LLB degree (essential).
• Minimum six months legal experience as an admitted attorney or candidate attorney.
• Experience in civil litigation, preferably with motor vehicle accident, Road Accident Fund or contract law matters.
• Enthusiastic, self‑motivated and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong initiative, problem‑solving ability and professional telephone manner.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
