About the role

Our client, a well‑established law firm in Pretoria, is looking for an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its team. The role focuses on managing civil and commercial disputes, primarily in the High Court and Magistrate's Court, and requires a proactive, detail‑oriented professional.

Key responsibilities

• Lead litigation matters from inception through final resolution, including drafting pleadings and reviewing legal documents.
• Conduct soft and hard collections, overseeing recovery processes and liaising with clients and counsel.
• Maintain case files, ensure compliance with court timelines, and use Caselines and Court Online for efficient administration.
• Provide strategic input to the litigation department and support senior lawyers as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum of 4 years post‑admission experience as an attorney.
• Demonstrated expertise in High Court and Magistrate's Court litigation.
• Strong drafting, briefing, and case‑management capabilities.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Residency in Pretoria or surrounding areas.
