Legal Practitioner – Wealth Management (Durban North)

About the role

Our client in the wealth management sector is seeking an experienced Legal Practitioner to join their team in Durban North. The role involves delivering comprehensive legal, fiduciary and corporate advisory services across the Group.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements and other legal documentation.
• Provide legal advice on commercial, corporate and contractual matters.
• Manage trusts, including registrations, amendments and ongoing administration.
• Prepare wills, living wills and estate‑planning documents.
• Administer deceased estates and liaise with the Master’s Office.
• Handle company secretarial duties such as CIPC compliance, resolutions, MOIs and share transactions.
• Coordinate with clients, financial institutions, regulators and third‑party service providers.
• Oversee legal matters from instruction through to completion and support corporate governance and risk management.

Required profile

• LLB degree; admission as an attorney is preferred.
• 3–5 years of post‑qualification experience in commercial law, trusts, estates and corporate law.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and communication abilities.
• Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
• Professional, client‑focused approach with meticulous attention to detail.
