About the role

An established legal team at the Waterfront in Cape Town is looking for a highly organised and detail‑oriented Legal Filing Clerk. This entry‑level position is ideal for candidates with at least one year of administrative experience, especially those who have been exposed to a legal environment or are recent law graduates seeking practical exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain a high volume of legal files and documentation, ensuring systematic and timely filing.
• Perform daily filing of legal documents, correspondence, and case‑related information.
• Retrieve files quickly upon request by lawyers or the Director.
• Print, photocopy, scan, and distribute documents as required.
• Prepare, organise, and bind legal bundles and files.
• Assist with the upkeep of both physical and electronic filing systems.
• Support general administrative duties within the legal team.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• At least 1 year of administrative experience, preferably in a fast‑paced environment.
• Previous exposure to a law firm or legal setting is advantageous.
• A law degree or legal qualification is a plus.
• Familiarity with legal terminology and case documentation.
