Legal Advisor – Commercial Banking (Fixed‑Term Contract)

About the role

A leading commercial bank is seeking an experienced Legal Advisor to join its Commercial Banking division on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract to provide maternity cover. The role supports high‑value banking transactions and provides commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of banking products.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and implement commercial banking and finance agreements.
• Provide legal oversight on lending transactions, trade finance and secured finance structures.
• Identify legal risks and propose commercially practical solutions.
• Work with Credit, Sales and Business teams to structure transactions and manage conditions precedent.
• Liaise with external attorneys and negotiate documentation directly with corporate clients.
• Support new product development, restructures, distressed debt and insolvency matters.

Required profile

• Admitted Attorney with an LLB degree.
• 3–5 years post‑admission experience in commercial banking, banking & finance or financial services.
• Strong drafting and negotiation experience in lending and security documentation.
