Lecturer in Accounting, Business Studies or Related

About the role

The College is seeking a full‑time Lecturer to teach Accounting and Business Studies on its Potchefstroom Campus. The successful candidate will join a supportive academic team and contribute to the development of students pursuing qualifications in accounting and related fields.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment, registration and induction of students.
• Facilitate general academic and career development of students.
• Prepare and deliver lessons in compliance with the College’s Annual Academic Plan, timetable and quality standards.
• Assess students, maintain assessment records and capture marks electronically.
• Create a conducive classroom environment and ensure effective classroom management and discipline.
• Report to the Senior Lecturer and liaise with the Student Support Officer for student interventions.
• Distribute textbooks and student packs, manage attendance, invigilate examinations and participate in extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Three‑year B degree/National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Accounting, Business Studies or related fields.
• Professional teaching qualification and a valid SACE certificate.
• Ability to teach Accounting and Computer Financial systems.

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Organising, planning and administration abilities.
• Ability to plan and deliver lessons effectively.
• Capability to monitor student performance and provide objective feedback.
