Learning & Development Facilitator

About the role

The Learning & Development Facilitator will champion a learning culture within Mediclinic Southern Africa, ensuring that staff and student nurses meet legislative and organisational competency standards. Reporting to the HR Service Delivery Model, the role plans, delivers and monitors employee development programmes aligned with the group’s strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Advocate and embed a learning culture across the locality.
• Plan and manage employee development in line with the MCSA strategy.
• Oversee formal student programmes and act as custodian of learning standards.
• Facilitate transformation initiatives through targeted learning interventions.
• Maintain records in Mediclinic systems (Workforce Dimensions, Mediclinic Academy, Connect, Webi).

Required profile

• Professional Nurse qualification.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education or minimum 3 years experience as a Clinical Facilitator.
• At least 5 years nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a Clinical Facilitator or Nurse Educator role.

Required skills

• Application of adult learning principles and instructional design (ADDIE model).
• Knowledge of healthcare legislation (HWSETA, SANC, AHA, HPCSA) and related compliance.
• Familiarity with Kirkpatrick evaluation levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with learning management systems and Mediclinic platforms (Academy LMS, Workforce Dimensions, Connect, Webi).
• Mentoring and performance‑coaching techniques.
