Lead: Digital Communications

About the role

We are looking for an energetic, self‑motivated Lead: Digital Communications to drive Capitec’s brand narrative across all digital channels. The role blends operational delivery with deep expertise in content creation, community engagement and influencer partnerships, ensuring every touch‑point aligns with the bank’s brand identity and strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, launch and optimise performance‑driven digital campaigns that boost audience engagement.
• Craft clear, compelling messages for internal and external audiences, linking them to Capitec’s “Build the Bank” strategy.
• Develop and manage content across social media platforms, ensuring consistency in tone and branding.
• Identify, nurture and coordinate relationships with influencers, agencies and media partners.
• Utilise ORM, social listening and advertising tools to monitor sentiment and refine communication tactics.
• Lead crisis communication efforts across multiple channels.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to align marketing, PR and product teams.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate diploma in Marketing or Communication (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• 5‑7 years of brand marketing experience in a large, client‑focused organisation, preferably within FMCG, retail, banking or services.
• Agency experience handling multiple client areas and cross‑functional project coordination.
• Proven creative writing and storytelling ability, with experience in change‑management communication.
