Key Account Manager – Air & Sea Logistics

About the role

DSV is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to lead and grow relationships with large, medium and small clients in the air and sea freight sector. You will act as the primary point of contact, ensuring profitability, operational excellence and strategic alignment across the client’s supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of large and medium sized clients, conducting 10‑15 appointments weekly.
• Maintain executive sponsor relationships and develop comprehensive client information packs.
• Lead account opening, implementation and continuous updates of client data.
• Negotiate contracts, mitigate risks and present new DSV products and services.
• Handle client queries, quality‑check estimates and ensure timely submission.
• Prepare and deliver client‑specific business reports, revenue summaries and performance reviews.
• Monitor service level agreements, identify exceptions and drive corrective actions.
• Facilitate rate negotiations, manage customer action plans and track quantified value for clients.
• Oversee client debtors, ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Drive continuous improvement projects and support logistics training initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• At least 8 years of experience in freight forwarding.
• Minimum 5 years of client‑facing experience.
• Own vehicle and a valid driver’s licence.
• B.Com in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is advantageous but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
