Junior/Trainee Developer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior/Trainee Developer to join our growing Microsoft‑based software team in Cape Town. The role offers hands‑on experience building and maintaining our in‑house ERP system while learning new technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop C++ desktop applications for the ERP platform.
• Collaborate with team members on design, coding and code reviews.
• Assist in software testing, quality control and debugging.
• Write and optimise SQL stored procedures and support database design.
• Continuously improve coding skills and adopt emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities; higher‑grade mathematics a plus.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Experience with at least one AI technology.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• C++ and C# programming.
• SQL (MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and database design.
• Visual Studio development environment.
• Git source‑control.
• REST/JSON API integration.
• Object‑oriented design, design patterns, unit and integration testing.
• Python (optional) and familiarity with Linux (future stack).
