Junior Web Developer

About the role

Storyteller is looking for a Junior Web Developer to join a supportive, product‑minded team. You will work remotely from anywhere in South Africa, building and enhancing the Web SDK that powers Stories for leading global sports brands.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and test small, well‑scoped feature improvements.
• Fix bugs, add tests and instrument code to improve performance and stability.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and Delivery to create pragmatic client solutions.
• Contribute to developer experience by improving documentation, examples and integration tools.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming and share learning with the team.
• Help refine CI pipelines, test suites and local development scripts as the platform scales.

Required profile

• Some experience with TypeScript, Node.js or Python.
• Exposure to React, basic APIs/HTTP and simple databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Genuine excitement for AI‑assisted coding and willingness to use LLM‑based tools.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and clear communication of trade‑offs.
• Reliability in meeting timelines and openness to feedback.
