Junior UX/UI Designer

About the role

Methys, an international technology hub focused on digital, performance and innovation, is looking for a Junior UX/UI Designer to join its team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa. The designer works alongside client-facing colleagues and often directly with clients, helping turn their needs into user-centred designs.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and champion user-centred design processes and UX/UI workflows
• Gather and evaluate user requirements with product managers and engineers, and report on UX programmes, projects and best practices
• Create storyboards, process flows, sitemaps, UI mockups, clickthrough prototypes and graphic designs (images, sketches, tables)
• Build graphic interface elements such as menus, tabs and widgets, and create rough drafts for stakeholder review
• Troubleshoot UX issues such as responsiveness, adjust layouts to user feedback and adhere to style standards for fonts, colours and images

Required profile

• Degree in Design, Fine Arts, Engineering or a related field
• 2-3 years of experience as a UI/UX designer with a portfolio of related projects
• Strong attention to detail, keen eye for aesthetics and excellent communication skills
• Team player able to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
