Junior Quantity Surveyor – Cape Town

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. The role involves supporting the measurement, pricing and tendering of roofing, waterproofing, asbestos removal and painting projects.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately measure plans and buildings to develop cost estimates.
• Prepare and submit quotes and tenders within required timeframes.
• Build up rates and pricing structures for various construction services.
• Facilitate and expedite production processes, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Identify problems and propose cost‑effective solutions.
• Support contracts managers with resource planning and organization.
• Maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.
• Promote company services and assist in project‑managing contracts.

Required profile

• National Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (advantageous) or at least five years of construction industry experience.
• Minimum five years of Quantity Surveying experience, including at least two years on painting, waterproofing or roofing projects.
• Recent experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator or Project Manager.
• Ability to measure buildings accurately and work to tight deadlines.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
• Fluent English and understanding of Afrikaans.
• Valid driver’s licence.
