Junior Mill Operator – Entry Level

About the role

Our client, a stainless‑steel manufacturer based in Centurion, is seeking a Junior Mill Operator to join their production team in Durbanville. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience operating milling equipment and developing skills under the guidance of senior operators.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and tend to milling machinery, such as a Tube Mill, to process raw materials.
• Monitor equipment performance and production output to maintain efficiency and quality.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure finished products meet required standards.
• Assist with routine maintenance, cleaning and basic troubleshooting of the mill.
• Learn more complex tasks and troubleshooting techniques under senior supervision.

Required profile

• Matric or equivalent with a standard/higher grade in Mathematics; technical schooling is a plus.
• Technical background from a Technical College or high school.
• Some exposure to a manufacturing environment, preferably with similar equipment.
• Strong teamwork, communication and the ability to work under pressure.
