Junior HR Generalist (Youth Employment Initiative)

About the role

The Junior HR Generalist will provide administrative and operational HR support across multiple business divisions as part of the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative. Working under the guidance of senior management and external labour specialists, you will assist with labour relations, performance management, misconduct processes, HR administration, and BBBEE compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support disciplinary and employee‑relations processes, including preparation of notices, charge sheets and hearing packs.
• Schedule and coordinate disciplinary hearings, investigations and interviews, and maintain case files on OneDrive.
• Prepare performance improvement plan (PIP) templates, schedule counselling sessions and track performance review dates.
• Log and monitor misconduct matters such as absenteeism, poor performance, negligence, insubordination and policy breaches.
• Assist with drafting, updating and administering employment contracts, disciplinary codes, HR policies and SOPs.
• Conduct employee onboarding, induction, off‑boarding and maintain confidential employee records.
• Liaise with external labour consultants or attorneys when matters are escalated.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of HR processes and willingness to work under supervision.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft OneDrive for document management.
