Junior Finance Controller – Durban

About the role

My client is looking for a well‑spoken Junior Finance Controller to manage all financial duties within a fast‑moving logistics, shipping and freight environment in Durban. This is an urgent opening, offering the chance to work closely with senior finance teams and contribute to accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records in line with IFRS, including journals, accruals, provisions and general‑ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow reports.
• Handle SARS and CIPC compliance submissions and related reporting.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Financial Accounting or Financial Management.
• Completed SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles.
• 2‑5 years of finance experience in the logistics, shipping or freight sector.

Required skills

• Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP functions.
• Working knowledge of IFRS standards.
