Junior Data Analyst – Power BI & T‑SQL

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Data Analyst to join a thriving Managed Service Provider in Cape Town. You will work with operational, commercial, finance and IT teams to turn raw data into actionable insights that improve performance, utilisation and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, clean and organise large data sets from multiple sources.
• Apply analytical techniques to identify trends and support business decisions.
• Create reports and visualisations using Power BI within the MS Fabric framework.
• Write T‑SQL queries or simple Python scripts to extract and manipulate data.
• Collaborate with senior analysts and other departments to understand requirements.
• Document processes and suggest improvements for efficiency.
• Maintain high accuracy in data cleaning, analysis and reporting.
• Present findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Utilise advanced Excel functions, pivot tables, V‑lookups and basic macros.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in data visualisation (Power BI, Tableau or similar).
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Effective communication skills for diverse audiences.
