Junior Data Analyst

About the role

This permanent position is based at Santam Insurance's Head Office in Tygervalley, Cape Town. As a Junior Data Analyst you will work within the Shared Services Department, supporting the Information Management Team to turn raw data into actionable business insights.

Key responsibilities

• Source, acquire and combine data from multiple internal and external systems.
• Transform and cleanse data to create reliable datasets, reports and dashboards.
• Assist senior analysts in defining complex business rules and building analytical models.
• Test analytical outputs, troubleshoot data quality issues and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with business representatives and product owners to gather requirements and deliver insights.
• Perform data profiling, mapping and document transformation rules.
• Interpret trends, generate visualisations and maintain ongoing dashboards.

Required profile

• Experience with a variety of data tools, analysis methods and data visualisation techniques.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to data integrity.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Understanding of data management concepts and the strategic value of information.
