Junior Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

OryxAlign is seeking a motivated Junior Cyber Security Analyst to join its security operations team. This role offers hands‑on exposure to modern security tools and processes within a managed‑services environment. You will work alongside senior analysts to monitor, investigate and respond to security events for internal and client systems.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security tools and platforms including SIEM, EDR, antivirus, and email security solutions for suspicious activity.
• Investigate and triage security alerts, escalating incidents where appropriate.
• Support security incident response activities, including documentation, containment, and remediation tasks.
• Assist with vulnerability scanning, reporting, and remediation tracking.
• Help maintain and improve security policies, procedures, standards, and documentation.
• Support user awareness initiatives such as phishing simulations and security training campaigns.
• Assist with identity and access management tasks, including access reviews and account administration.
• Analyse logs and system events to identify potential threats or anomalous behaviour.
• Support compliance and security audit activities where required.
• Stay up to date with emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Awareness of common cyber threats including phishing, malware, ransomware, and social engineering.
• Understanding of core security principles such as the CIA triad, least privilege, and defence in depth.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to follow documented processes and maintain accurate records.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• A genuine interest in cyber security and technology.
