Junior Customer Engineer – Digital Workplace Management (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Provide technical assistance and maintenance of computer systems, logistical support and audio‑visual equipment for clients, ensuring minimal downtime and high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Implement preventative and proactive maintenance, including monitoring of node devices, CPU, disk space and memory.
• Facilitate resolution of third‑party incidents by liaising with external resources.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting across systems to resolve incidents.
• Engage with all personnel, including VIPs, following the escalation matrix and keeping customers informed.
• Take ownership of incidents and service requests, providing continuous feedback until resolution.
• Assist with 1st and 2nd level End‑User Support by troubleshooting applications and devices.

Required profile

• Grade 12 National Diploma (NQF 4) – preferably in Information Technology.
• At least 1 year of IT end‑user support experience with SLA call management.
• Driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and willingness to travel and work shifts.
• Ability to work in a hybrid remote environment and be on standby as needed.

Required skills

• Hardware and software installation and management.
• Hardware troubleshooting.
• Customer service and problem solving.
• Knowledge of ITIL service management (A+N+ certification preferred).
• Familiarity with HP, Dell, Lenovo, Mustek products.
• Optional certifications: CCNA/E, MCSA/E.
