Junior Compliance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Compliance Manager to join our team in the insurance sector. The role offers the chance to lead compliance activities, work with business leaders and develop risk‑reduction initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Compliance Professionals, ensuring quality and completeness of reviews, monitoring and risk assessments.
• Oversee the Annual Compliance Plan, allocate tasks, meet deadlines and maintain regulatory and industry standards.
• Identify, assess and prioritize significant compliance, legal and operational risks; monitor emerging risks and corrective actions.
• Review audit and testing work, analyse findings and ensure risks are escalated appropriately.
• Collaborate with business leaders and support functions to implement controls and improve processes.
• Prepare and present management reports, dashboards and metrics on compliance performance and risk trends.
• Monitor contractual obligations, SLA dates and compliance requirements of key suppliers.
• Drive continuous improvement of compliance methodologies, monitoring approaches and governance processes.

Required profile

• A degree in BCom, LLB or a related field (LLB advantageous).
• 2–4 years of experience in compliance, risk management, audit, legal or financial services.
• Experience leading projects, coordinating stakeholders or supervising team members is a plus.
• Proven ability to interpret large data sets, identify trends and support risk‑based decision making.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) for reporting and data analysis.
• Power BI for dashboard development and visualisation.
• Data analysis and dashboard creation capabilities.
