Commercial Modeller

About the role

PwC's South Africa Technology & Innovation Centre (SATIC) has a Commercial Modeller position in its Business services / Commercial excellence team. The role supports the UK Commercial Excellence Team and the Clients and Markets Executive in driving commercial performance, and provides commercial analysis and detailed costing and pricing model support for live opportunities, including new business and extensions. It works with opportunity teams across Lines of Service to gather costs, validate assumptions and ensure the data feeding cost and price models is accurate and reliable.

Key responsibilities

• Provide commercial analysis to support managers and directors in the Commercial Excellence Team in their decision-making.
• Own the creation and management of detailed costing and pricing models for live opportunities, including new business or extensions.
• Work with opportunity teams within the Lines of Service to gather costs and validate assumptions.
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy and relevance of the data and information feeding cost and price models.
• Share best-practice modelling skills and relevant analysis with other team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing, Economics, Mathematics, Business Science, Commerce or a related field.
• Strong financial, business and commercial acumen, and the ability to challenge and influence stakeholders in a commercial environment.
• Self-starter with strong business acumen and good commercial awareness, comfortable working with ambiguity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to work across a dynamic, diverse environment to tight deadlines.
• Able to work closely with Partners and Sales Teams and understand firm-wide commercial performance.

Required skills

• Strong Excel and modelling skills.
• Understanding of PwC costing and Line of Service financial structure.
• Experience using rate cards.
• Pricing expertise is highly desirable.

Travel of up to 20% is available; the role is not open to work visa sponsorship.
