Junior Application Developer – Event Streaming & DevOps

About the role

As a Junior Application Developer you will join the EVS Support‑DevOps team to design, develop and maintain event‑driven software solutions. You will work on data‑streaming platforms and containerised workloads, ensuring high availability and performance for client applications.

Key responsibilities

• Support and optimise event streaming tools such as Apache Kafka, NiFi, RabbitMQ and RTI.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and tune data pipelines, topics and consumer groups.
• Deploy and manage containerised applications on Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters.
• Automate routine operations with Bash scripts and CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain Linux (Red Hat/CentOS) servers that host streaming infrastructure.
• Implement monitoring dashboards using Grafana and Prometheus and respond to alerts via PagerDuty.
• Collaborate with developers to debug services using Postman and Visual Studio.
• Document processes in Confluence and track work in Jira.

Required profile

• Junior‑level experience or academic background in software development or DevOps.
• Strong interest in event‑driven architectures and cloud‑native technologies.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.

Required skills

• Apache Kafka, Apache NiFi, RabbitMQ, RTI.
• Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes.
• Linux administration (Red Hat/CentOS).
• Bash scripting and automation.
• CI/CD tooling.
• Grafana, Prometheus, PagerDuty.

• API testing with Postman and development in Visual Studio.
• Issue tracking with Jira and documentation with Confluence.
