Junior Accountant – Finance Department

About the role
Our client, a manufacturer and supplier of galvanized rainwater goods and roofing products, is seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join the Finance department in Durbanville. The role offers hands‑on experience in core accounting functions within a dynamic production environment.
Key responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices and perform creditor reconciliations.
- Prepare supplier payments, remittances and manage bank and cash‑book reconciliations.
- Assist with VAT calculations, submissions and maintain the fixed‑asset register.
- Post journals, accruals and pre‑payments, and carry out balance‑sheet reconciliations.
- Support month‑end closing activities and liaise with suppliers, banks and SARS as required.
- Provide ad‑hoc assistance to the Financial Manager.
Required profile
- Grade 12 or BCom Accounting degree.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience.
- Strong numerical ability, attention to detail and ability to work independently.

- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Office
- SAP (advantageous)
