Junior Accountant – 3-Month Contract (Cape Town)

About the role

Our client, a dynamic manufacturing company in Cape Town, is seeking a proactive Junior Accountant on a three‑month contract. This role offers hands‑on experience supporting a busy finance department, with exposure to audit preparation, supplier reconciliations, and internal control improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing audit files and supporting documentation.
• Maintain accurate filing and record‑keeping of financial documents in line with company policies and statutory requirements.
• Support the review and enhancement of internal controls, including implementation of process improvements.
• Process and monitor supplier credit requests, ensuring all supporting documentation is correctly maintained.
• Scan, organise, and maintain supplier statements and invoices for VAT and audit purposes.
• Assist internal stakeholders with invoice requests and related financial documentation.
• Coordinate administrative functions such as managing incoming calls, visitor arrangements, and office supply requirements.
• Support month‑end finance activities and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
• Provide general administrative and finance support as required by management.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar accounting or finance role.
• Matric Certificate or a Diploma in Finance or Accounting.
• Organised, able to thrive under pressure and work in a fast‑paced environment.
