IT Systems Administrator – Bloemfontein, Ficksburg & Lesotho

About the role

The IT Systems Administrator will be based in Bloemfontein and will travel to sites in Ficksburg and Lesotho as required. You will ensure the stability, performance and security of on‑premises and cloud infrastructure supporting business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain and optimise servers, storage and network infrastructure to guarantee availability and performance.
• Manage firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs and cloud resources with a strong focus on security and compliance.
• Perform proactive patch management, updates and troubleshooting to prevent service disruptions.
• Own backup, disaster‑recovery and restore processes, including regular testing to meet continuity and regulatory requirements.
• Apply cybersecurity controls, assist with vulnerability assessments and respond to incidents according to established procedures.
• Serve as the escalation point above Tier 1 support for complex infrastructure issues and manage secure user access, provisioning and onboarding/off‑boarding.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate or equivalent to NQF 4.
• Minimum 5 years IT experience, including at least 3 years as a Systems Administrator.
• Valid RSA driver’s licence with own transport.
