IT System Administrator & Software Developer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive IT System Administrator and Software Developer to join our team in Durban. The role blends traditional systems administration with the development of business solutions on Microsoft platforms, supporting our digital transformation and AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems and application software.
• Administer, design and develop solutions in Microsoft SharePoint.
• Create business applications using Power Apps, automate processes with Power Automate and build reports with Power BI.
• Support software development and systems integration projects.
• Manage Microsoft 365 environment, including user accounts, security and compliance.
• Implement backup, redundancy and patch management to ensure system resilience.
• Research emerging technologies and advise on AI and digital transformation opportunities.
• Participate in IT projects, providing status updates to the IT Manager and assisting with ad‑hoc tasks.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and an accredited qualification in IT, Computer Science or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in systems administration.
• Minimum 2 years working with Microsoft SharePoint.
• Minimum 2 years developing solutions on the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
• Experience in Microsoft 365 administration and software development.
