IT Support Specialist – 3‑Month Contract in Johannesburg

About the role

We are looking for an IT Support Specialist to provide on‑site technical assistance for a three‑month period at our Johannesburg office. The role involves maintaining desktop environments, supporting audio‑visual equipment and ensuring network services run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain desktop computers, peripherals and software applications.
• Image laptops and desktops and manage printer fleets.
• Provide hands‑on support for conference‑room AV equipment and coordinate vendor setups.
• Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) services for IT assets, including mobile phones, scanners and printers.
• Deliver VIP‑level support, manage audio‑visual and conferencing technologies, and handle recurring meetings and after‑hours activities.
• Install and configure network and shared printers, and support Office 365 applications.
• Maintain IT inventory, coordinate vendor support, and assist with procurement.
• Support macOS devices and adhere strictly to defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Document incidents, problems and resolutions for the knowledge base.
• Provide L1 LAN connectivity troubleshooting and hands‑on support for servers, storage, backup and network devices, including rack mounting, cable/SFP handling and device reboot.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and ability to work on‑site.
• Good knowledge of DHCP and DNS.
• Experience adhering to SLA requirements.
• Ability to work with OEM vendors and handle physical hardware tasks.
