IT Internal Auditor – Strong IT Background

About the role

The IT Internal Auditor will evaluate, monitor and improve the effectiveness of the organisation's information systems, technology controls and security processes. The role ensures IT environments are secure, efficient and aligned with business objectives while complying with policies and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist management with queries and maintain relationships with internal and external assurance providers.
• Oversee group‑wide internal IT audits, challenge risk information and provide input on improving IT risk management processes.
• Execute audits in line with the audit methodology, prepare planning documents, risk‑control matrices and test procedures.
• Supervise IT auditors, track budgets and timesheets, and provide regular progress updates.
• Follow up on audit findings, prepare progress reports for risk and audit committees, and monitor implementation of corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Auditing or related field.
• Professional certification such as CIA, CISA, CISM, CRISC or CGIT (at least one required).
• Minimum 2 years of audit experience, preferably with IT General Control and Application Control reviews.
• Knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO) and corporate/IT governance.

• Technical infrastructure knowledge, including databases and operating systems.
• Cyber and information security concepts.
• Data assurance, data analytics and Computer Assisted Auditing Techniques (CAATs).
• Project and programme management basics.
