IT Infrastructure Junior Project Manager

About the role

Life Healthcare is looking for an IT Infrastructure Junior Project Manager based at its Head Office in Dunkeld, reporting to Head IT Infrastructure Delivery. The role coordinates ICT infrastructure projects across Life Healthcare's Southern African operations, supporting delivery within the agreed scope, schedule and budget by coordinating resources, assigning responsibilities, tracking progress and reporting to stakeholders. Project budgets range from R0 to R5 million and projects last no longer than 12 months.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, goals and deliverables, and plan and schedule timelines and milestones
• Track milestones and deliverables, manage expectations and produce status reports
• Coordinate activities across internal IT teams, vendors and contractors, and arrange site access, equipment deliveries and implementation windows
• Maintain risk, issue, assumption and dependency logs, and understand change control, testing, implementation and rollback planning
• Manage project dependencies and the critical path, delegate tasks and coach and mentor team members and contractors
• Prepare progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations, and help ensure operational handover and support readiness
• Travel to sites during implementations or go-live activities

Required profile

• National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline, or a project management diploma/certification with practical ICT infrastructure delivery experience
• 1-4 years of direct experience in an ICT environment (WAN, LAN, networking, security, wireless, video conferencing or telephony), including project coordination, infrastructure delivery, IT operations or technical support
• Willingness to travel to sites

Required skills

• Basic project management training; PRINCE2 Foundation or CAPM equivalent preferred
• ITIL Foundation
• Microsoft Azure and/or Cisco fundamentals, and any cloud certifications
• Understanding of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS, cybersecurity, access management, backups and disaster recovery
• Microsoft platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Intune
