IT Business Analyst

About the role

The IT Business Analyst will work within FNB's RMB Global Markets division, focusing on market risk technology changes. The role bridges complex risk methodologies, regulatory requirements and business needs with functional specifications and data models.

Key responsibilities

• Lead requirements elicitation, documentation and validation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Translate market risk and regulatory mandates into functional specifications, data requirements and control frameworks.
• Analyse existing and future‑state processes, perform gap and impact assessments, and maintain traceability.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders across risk, technology, data, finance and control functions.
• Support solution design, backlog refinement, testing activities and implementation validation.

Required profile

• Minimum eight years of experience in business or systems analysis, preferably within market risk or financial‑markets technology.
• Proven ability to deliver complex change initiatives from analysis through testing and validation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance or Risk Management.

Required skills

• Expertise in business and systems analysis, requirements elicitation and process analysis.
• Strong data analysis skills, including data mapping, transformations and quality controls.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
