Liquidity Risk Analyst

About the role

Absa is looking for a dedicated Analyst to join its Funding and Liquidity Management team within Group Treasury. The role supports the bank’s financial stability by ensuring adequate funding and meeting strict liquidity risk management objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and submit daily and monthly liquidity regulatory reports and analytical packages, and respond to regulator queries.
• Produce internal dashboards, committee‑level reports, and external disclosures for rating agencies and Pillar 3.
• Lead initiatives to optimise liquidity and funding ratios, conduct trend analysis, benchmarking and forecasting.
• Collect and consolidate financial data from regional operations for Group‑level reporting and review reporting assumptions annually.
• Maintain strong internal networks across business units, support auditors and rating agencies, and prepare presentations on liquidity risk topics.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Finance or Risk Management; banking or Treasury experience is highly advantageous.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and communicate clearly, both written and verbally.
• Proactive, adaptable and resilient with a solid understanding of governance and control frameworks.

Required skills

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
