Inventory Management Planner

About the role

The Inventory Management Planner acts as a strategic business partner, overseeing end‑to‑end inventory across Direct‑to‑Consumer, Retail, Wholesale and Omnichannel channels in South Africa. Reporting to the Merchandise Planning & Inventory Lead, the role balances demand, supply, service levels and working capital to ensure optimal product availability and flow.

Key responsibilities

• Lead inventory management for DTC, Retail, Wholesale and Omnichannel businesses.
• Develop and execute inventory strategies aligned with financial, sales and service objectives.
• Own inventory health metrics such as turns, weeks of supply and availability.
• Provide monthly forecasts, risk assessments and actionable recommendations.
• Support MBR, QBR, S&OP and financial planning processes.
• Reconcile demand and supply, manage inbound visibility and purchase order tracking.
• Drive channel allocation strategies to maximize sales, margin and service levels.
• Collaborate with Merchandise Planning, Sales, Retail and DTC teams on inventory plans.
• Identify and implement improvements to inventory processes.
• Develop exit and liquidation strategies for excess and obsolete stock.

Required profile
