Internal vacant posts – project management, engineering & finance

About the role

Lepelle‑Nkumpi Local Municipality is seeking suitably qualified and experienced internal candidates for several vacant posts within the Technical Services Department and the Office of the Chief Financial Officer.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the local infrastructure programme and ensure compliance with the Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG) legislation, policies and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) projects, monitor budgets, milestones and prepare progress reports for national and municipal stakeholders.
• Support municipal finance functions, ensure compliance with the Municipal Finance Management Act and assist in the preparation of Treasury returns and financial management systems.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering (NQF Level 7) with at least five years’ experience, three of which at middle‑management level, for the Project Management Unit Manager role.
• National Diploma in Civil Engineering or Project Management with three to five years’ project‑management experience for the Technician role.
• University/Technikon graduate in Accounting, Auditing, Tax or Economics for the Municipal Finance Management Intern positions.

Required skills

• Civil engineering and project‑management knowledge.
• Understanding of local‑government systems and MIG/EPWP processes.
• Computer literacy and a valid driver’s licence.
