Internal Communications Lead

About the role

The Internal Communications Lead is responsible for developing and executing KFC Africa's internal communications strategy, ensuring employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with the organisation's purpose, culture and business priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the internal communications strategy and annual communications calendar.
• Lead the planning and delivery of employee engagement and change communication campaigns.
• Create and approve leadership communications, key messages, presentations and organisational announcements.
• Manage and optimise internal communication channels and platforms.
• Advise the business on communication approaches for priorities and organisational change.
• Measure communication effectiveness and provide insights and recommendations.
• Maintain governance, messaging consistency and editorial standards.
• Oversee the Internal Communications Coordinator and approve final content.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or a related field (Honours advantageous).
• 10+ years of corporate/internal communications experience, including at least 5 years of team and agency management.
• Experience in FMCG, retail or QSR sectors preferred.
• Proven leadership capability to build, motivate and develop high‑performing teams.
• Strong strategic, creative and commercial judgment.
• Excellent relationship‑building, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Ability to operate under pressure, manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality outcomes.
