Internal Auditor (Grade D2)

About the role

Armscor is looking for an Internal Auditor for its Internal Audit Department at Head Office in Pretoria. The position is full-time and onsite, graded D2. Its purpose is to supervise and execute internal audit engagements and provide independent, objective assurance to the Internal Audit function, helping the organisation improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Draft engagement letters to auditees in line with the audit plan and submit them for review and approval
• Prepare a Risk and Control Matrix (RACM)
• Plan and prioritise activities according to allocated hours and prepare detailed risk-based audit programs
• Execute audits to establish the adequacy and compliance of controls
• Discuss findings with clients to validate issues
• Prepare draft reports covering findings, root causes, effects and recommendations, incorporating comments from the Manager and Senior Manager
• Provide draft reports and recommendations to clients so they can indicate corrective actions
• Carry out special audit assignments and write progress and monthly reports
• Provide advisory services to internal stakeholders and may supervise and mentor junior auditors

Required profile

• Grade 12
• BCom / B.Tech / B.Acc (Accounting or Auditing) at NQF Level 7
• At least 6 years of audit experience
• IIA qualification or membership (added advantage: SACIA, CISA)

• Knowledge of Internal Audit Standards
• System flowcharting
• Risk-based audit program drafting
• Root cause analysis
• Knowledge of PFMA and the Risk and Control Matrix
