Internal Auditor – Financial & Operational Audits

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to join our fast‑growing finance team in Johannesburg North. The role will involve planning and executing risk‑based financial, operational and compliance audits across multiple business units, helping to strengthen governance and drive performance improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, conduct and report on risk‑based financial, operational and compliance audit engagements from start to finish.
• Assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls and business processes.
• Identify control gaps, recommend improvements and monitor implementation of corrective actions.
• Utilise data‑analytics techniques and audit software to enhance audit efficiency.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand risks and support risk‑mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies and best practices.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of internal audit experience, preferably in finance or accounting environments.
• Proven ability to manage audit engagements independently, from planning through reporting.
• Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and internal control standards.
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with data‑analytics tools (e.g., ACL, IDEA, Power BI) – advantageous.
