Intern: Merchandise Allocator

About the role

Foschini is looking for an intern to join its Merchandise Planning and Allocation teams. The role supports the implementation of the Merchandise Strategy through stock allocation and replenishment, and provides administrative and operational assistance to the teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with stock allocation and replenishment activities
• Monitor stock levels and merchandise movement across stores
• Analyse sales, stock and store performance data to identify trends and stock requirements
• Liaise with stores, suppliers and the Distribution Centre on stock availability, deliveries and queries
• Track deliveries and follow up on delays or discrepancies
• Identify and report stock-related issues
• Prepare reports and maintain accurate stock and allocation records
• Provide general administrative and operational support to the Merchandise Planning and Allocation teams

Required profile

• A relevant qualification in Retail Management, Business Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Previous exposure to a retail or stock management environment is advantageous
• Good numerical and analytical skills, attention to detail, communication and organisational skills
• Willingness to learn and develop an understanding of retail merchandise
