Intermediate Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

The Intermediate Infrastructure Engineer will support the design, implementation and maintenance of our enterprise IT environment. You will work closely with senior engineers, assist with escalations and contribute to on‑call rotations while ensuring high availability of critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in design discussions and assist Infrastructure Engineer I with escalations.
• Execute daily operational tasks, on‑call duties and schedule routine checklists.
• Lead the design, deployment and upkeep of enterprise‑grade monitoring solutions.
• Document system architectures, topologies, hardware and software configurations.
• Build and maintain Group Policy objects to meet security standards.
• Oversee and optimise virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V or similar), including virtual clusters, resource pools and distributed switches.
• Design, deploy and manage virtual machines, snapshots, templates and cloning processes; perform VM migrations as required.
• Administer Windows and Linux operating systems across physical and virtual environments, ensuring patching, updates and security.
• Manage SAN solutions, provision storage volumes, conduct health checks and handle data replication, backup and recovery.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of IT infrastructure experience.
• Relevant certifications (A+, N+, MCP, MCSE, MCITP) are advantageous.
• Experience with server patching (WSUS), VMware virtualization and Windows Server 2012‑2019.
• Familiarity with Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory and cloud concepts is a plus.
• Additional certifications such as Red Hat OpenShift, Linux, Network+, CCNA or VCP are beneficial.
