Intermediate Systems Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Intermediate Systems Engineer to manage and support our Windows and Linux infrastructure. The role ensures high availability, security, and performance of servers, desktops, and network services while collaborating closely with senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Windows/Linux networks, including servers, desktops, and laptops.
• Maintain Windows Server, Group Policy, Active Directory, Exchange, and Office 365 for staff.
• Apply patches, updates, and service packs following audit assessments.
• Configure and manage monitoring tools such as Nagios, NetFlow, and Cacti.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot CCTV solutions.
• Support enterprise IP networks in 24x7 mission‑critical environments.
• Research networking issues and stay current with hardware, protocols, and standards.
• Provide tier‑1 and tier‑2 end‑user support, including new user setup and workstation configuration.
• Manage backup solutions, disaster recovery recommendations, and business continuity planning.
• Oversee Microsoft SAM audits and McAfee Endpoint Protection Suite (EPO, DLP, Antivirus, Encryption).
• Lead and train junior Systems Engineers and IT support staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience administering Windows and Linux environments.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, and Office 365.
• Hands‑on experience with network monitoring tools (Nagios, NetFlow, Cacti).
• Ability to troubleshoot OS, network, storage, and security issues.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Leadership skills to mentor junior engineers and support staff.
