Instrument Technician

About the role

The Instrument Technician will maintain engineering equipment to world‑class standards and support the Maintenance Coordinator. You will inspect, test, and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical and pneumatic instruments, ensuring high plant availability and product quality while keeping costs low.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist operational support to shift‑based teams and act as a functional expert in problem solving.
• Carry out repairs on plant equipment, including electrical, electronic, mechanical and pneumatic instruments.
• Apply structured problem‑solving techniques to resolve issues that arise during routine activities.
• Participate in maintenance planning meetings, contribute suggestions and clarify required work.
• Promote safe housekeeping, identify unsafe practices and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain plant availability above 95% and meet all regulatory and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or trade‑tested Artisan qualification (S4/N3‑4 in Electrical Engineering).
• Minimum 5 years experience in electrical and instrument maintenance.
• At least 2 years experience in the FMCG industry.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and numeracy skills.
• Leadership mindset with a focus on long‑term results and continuous learning.
