Instrument Mechanician (2 positions)

About the role

We are seeking two Instrument Mechanicians to join our plant operations team. The role involves maintaining and troubleshooting pneumatic and electronic instrumentation, supporting the Distributed Control System (DCS), and ensuring reliable plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain existing pneumatic and electronic equipment.
• Maintain and support the DCS system.
• Perform fault finding on all plant equipment and installations.
• Commission new instrumentation and equipment.
• Undertake standby duties for the entire plant.
• Participate in plant shutdowns and project commissioning activities.
• Follow company policies, safety standards and statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Matriculation with a recognised trade test in instrumentation and process control.
• At least 2 years of industry experience with pneumatic and electronic instrumentation.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail and a positive safety attitude.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to a demanding environment.

Required skills

• Pneumatic instrumentation.
• Electronic instrumentation.
• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC).
• Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
• Familiarity with high‑pressure boiler control (advantage).
