Instrument Assistant

About the role

We are looking for an Instrument Assistant to support instrumentation and electrical activities across our plant. The role involves assisting with breakdowns, upgrades, installations and routine maintenance to ensure reliable operation of low‑voltage and control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with instrumentation and electrical breakdowns, upgrades, and modifications.
• Support fault finding and maintenance on PLCs, VSDs, and low‑voltage systems.
• Help install equipment during projects and shutdowns, including sensors, instrument valves, pneumatic piping, cables and wireways.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and support commissioning activities.
• Maintain accurate work orders and maintenance records.
• Follow all safety, permit‑to‑work, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement, safety and reliability initiatives.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of PLCs and variable speed drives (VSDs).
• Understanding of low‑voltage electrical systems.
• Experience with installing sensors, instrument valves and pneumatic piping.
• Familiarity with cable routing, wireways and general instrumentation installation.
