Institutional Business Developer

About the role

Swissquote’s South African entity is seeking an Institutional Business Developer to expand its network of institutional clients, focusing on asset managers, collective investment schemes, banks, LISPs and trust companies. The role involves presenting offshore brokerage and custody solutions across asset classes and managing the full onboarding process.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire institutional clients, particularly asset managers and collective investment schemes.
• Present Swissquote’s offshore brokerage and custody value proposition to prospective partners.
• Manage end‑to‑end onboarding, coordinating with legal, compliance, IT and back‑office teams.
• Ensure compliance with AML requirements for various client types.
• Identify and develop long‑term relationships with institutional partners.
• Collaborate with internal specialists on OTC brokerage, trading, API integration and other solutions.
• Define sales strategies, targets and market development plans with the Business Development head.
• Travel nationally to meet clients or attend conferences as needed.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in offshore investment business development with a proven track record.
• Strong existing network in the South African institutional market.
• Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent degree.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English; additional languages such as German are a plus.
• Self‑motivated, responsible, proactive and organized, with a focus on delivering a professional client experience.
