Infrastructure & Hosting Administrator

About the role

Heya is seeking an experienced Infrastructure & Hosting Administrator to manage production DNS, web hosting, domain, and email services for an international client. This hands‑on position focuses on reliability, security, and performance of critical hosting environments while collaborating with global leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Manage domain registrations, renewals, transfers, and DNS updates.
• Administer hosting accounts, databases, backups, and SSL certificates.
• Provision and maintain email accounts, mail forwarding, and ensure SPF, DKIM, and DMARC compliance.
• Investigate and resolve email deliverability and spam issues.
• Monitor website uptime, SSL status, domain expirations, and blacklist listings.
• Perform website migrations and keep technical documentation up to date.

Required profile

• Proactive and detail‑oriented with a strong sense of ownership.
• Hands‑on experience managing live production DNS and web hosting environments.
• Ability to work US business hours from an onsite Johannesburg location.

Required skills

• cPanel, WHM or Plesk administration.
• Configuration and maintenance of SPF, DKIM, DMARC records.
• DNS record management (A, CNAME, MX, TXT).
• SSL/TLS certificate handling (Let’s Encrypt/AutoSSL).
• Troubleshooting SMTP, mail flow, and email deliverability.
• Use of MXToolbox, dig, nslookup, and email header analysis.
• Linux system knowledge and Bash/Python scripting (advantageous).
