Independent Marketing Lecturer (Contract)

About the role

The university seeks an independent contractor to teach Marketing modules within the Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing programme. The lecturer will design and deliver lectures, workshops and tutorials, both face‑to‑face and online, to help students master core concepts and develop practical skills.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lectures, workshops and tutorials across a range of Marketing subjects.
• Design, update and maintain course content, curricula and instructional materials.
• Develop and administer assessments such as exams, assignments and presentations, and provide constructive feedback.
• Monitor student progress, keep accurate academic records and offer academic advice.
• Contribute to curriculum development and ensure alignment with current industry standards and accreditation requirements.
• Participate in departmental committees, administrative tasks and continuous professional development.
• Promote an inclusive classroom environment that supports diversity, equity and inclusion.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in Marketing.
• Professional certification or demonstrable experience in digital marketing disciplines.
• Relevant industry experience in marketing and digital marketing.
• Prior lecturing experience in both face‑to‑face and online environments is an advantage.
