ICT Manager & Public Participation Officer

About the role

The Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality is hiring an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Manager and two Public Participation Officers to strengthen its corporate services and community engagement functions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and maintain the municipal network infrastructure, ensuring robust network security and regular upgrades.
• Oversee the municipality’s telephone systems and advise on changes and upgrades.
• Develop and enforce ICT policies, governance frameworks, and disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Coordinate logistics for public engagements, develop ward‑based plans, and manage Ward Committee activities.
• Manage relationships with ICT service providers and handle procurement specifications for hardware and software.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or B.Tech degree in Information Technology (for ICT Manager) or National Diploma in Public Administration (for Public Participation Officer).
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Minimum three years ICT experience (preferably municipal) or two years experience in local government for the participation role.
